It turns out Miley Cyrus and Snoop Lion have a lot in common.
Disney star Miley Cyrus and rapper Snoop Lion (formerly Snoop Dogg) both entertain for a living, produce hit songs, and enjoy the occasional green stuff. The unlikely duo have gotten together for a brand new duet called “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks” which will be seen on Snoop Lion’s forthcoming reggae album “Reincarnation”.
Upon first listen the track is a feel good Summer track, undeniably catchy, and an ode to marijuana. The Major Lazer produced song hears the two sing of loved ones lost; be it friends, family members or heartbreak. The relatable lyrics preach, “You never miss what you have until it’s gone.”
Not that we needed more proof that Miley is an adult now, this song takes her new persona to a new level. In the song Miley sings the chorus, “So raise a glass to the memories/ and set ‘em free and fill up all those ashtrays.” To us, it seems she wants to throw her bubblegum image back in Disney’s face.
What is Miley trying to accomplish with this song?
