OK so I need to send out a major statement: I have been an avid iPhone user since the launch of the very first phone. Not a pure user… Oh no. I have tried several times to break away from the clan. The original HTC phones, the Galaxy S, all the flagship Windows Phones, you name it.
Nothing seemed to pull me away from the phone. The initial Galaxy devices infuriated me actually. It was like a Korean ripoff of the Apple icon. That was truly until a combo of two recent phones.
The new HTC One was an incredible and well built phone that came out and gave the iPhone a run for its money. The device was well built with very useful features. These are things that would lure an iPhone user away. The unfortunate thing for HTC though is that they did not have a marketing machine that would keep me on board or excited for the phone.
No, no, no. Something terrible happened for HTC, and worse for Apple. The phone did an awesome job of pulling me into Android by luring me in with incredible build quality. I learned that Android could achieve many of my enterprise needs better than iOS could. But on top of that, it could provide with with TONS of worthless perks and features that I really did not need, but some how REALLY wanted. Samsung stepped up and pulled me in further. Apple had Siri, but Samsung had… S Health? Air Gestures? Mobile toilet paper?
The moral of the story is that Samsung is a marketing machine to the likes, if not better than Apple. That combined with Android has now become a killer combination. I have written about this before, but now I am writing about it as a convert and the owner of a GS4.
What has my world come to? Go, go now and by the phone.
I leave you with a review by one of my favorite online reviewers. Enjoy
